BASWAphon Seamless Acoustical Finish Systems are installed to control sound reverberation

Sound in a room is generated at a location, spread in all directions and then reflected completely or partially at the surfaces it hits. If a room resounds or echoes too much, the reverberation time has to be reduced by absorptive measures. These absorptive measures should be adapted to the room’s functional as well as aesthetic requirements.

Controlling a reverberant sound field with sound absorbing materials is often the most practical method of noise control for institutional, industrial, exposition and correctional facilities. Experiments in psycho acoustics and speech intelligibility have shown that long reverberation times make the understanding of speech difficult or impossible. Also as the reverberation time is shortened, the background noise level is reduced as speech intelligibility improves. Improvement in communications has long been recognized as an important feature for most public, commercial and industrial spaces. A good acoustical environment in school classrooms and child care centers is now also recognized as a critical factor in the development of early language skills in very young children.

BASWAphon is available in three standard surface finishes; “Classic”, ‘Frosted” and “Clean”.  The “Frosted” and “Clean” System finishes are mold and mildew resistant. All BASWAphon Systems are Green Products and can provide LEED credits in up to 10 categories
